Places

It was an engraved map of Europe with a diagram of the solar system superimposed over the top of it. In the northwest corner there was the sun, situated over my home in Queen's Stanley. Surrounding this, there were four rings and four planets marking four elemental paths - each one’s topography mapped out with extraordinary detail and precision...I realised that I needed to embark on one of the four paths, and that once I had chosen, I would not be able to turn back. Destiny beckoned forth, and, somehow, I knew that if I were not ready, or not adequately prepared in my heart, then I might as well turn back and return home.

Thorndale

13/3/2020

Thorndale is the smallest out of the four districts in Queen's Stanley. Consisting of just three roads, Thorndale Avenue, Oaks Close and Bethany Way, Thorndale is home to Oaks Close Primary School, Saint Mary's Church and Houston Court Hotel. Hayda Loral taught a class of rude mucky uncouth youths at the primary school for just one term before being sacked for locking up two students in a paints cupboard.

London Park

London Park was once a desolate district, just around the corner from the school where Hayda Loral used to teach. The buildings are a mismatched mixture of charcoal-grey converted warehouses and tacky post-war houses with alleyways and dilapidated brick walls. There are two main streets in the neighbourhood: London Park Road, which has a line of shops and amenities, as well as London Park Police Constabulary, and Vernenia Road, which is mainly residential.

The Old Baileys (Magistrates Courts) were knocked down in 2000 and a new music arena "Swan Arena" was built where they used to stand. Since 2000, London Park has been gentrified with many of the abandoned warehouses being converted into arts studios and American-style loft apartments. A flourishing "Mid-Market" has also spawned here. A new residential road - Ravenswood Gardens with more modern developments was built in recent years.

London Park takes its name from the large area of parkland on its east side, land which is ironically owned by its neighbouring district,
Sisorca. In the olden days, the district was known as Emley, from which Emley House (currently part of the London Park Police Constabulary) takes its name.

Ravenswood

Ravenswood is an area of countryside and outstanding national beauty that lies just on the outskirts of Queen's Stanley, on the edge of the Hotscold Escarpment in Southern Engle Land. Climbing atop the great cliff face affords exquisite views over the vale and the Southwest Downs.

Situated in Ravenswood are LEU Tech and the old, abandoned Saint John's Cathedral which was the sacred site of worship for the alchemical cable throughout the 1980s. Beneath the hill are also Sour Lakes where the alchemists brought Stan's body.

Yaxley

Queen Stanley's neighbouring town. An ‘unvisited’ location neighbouring Queen Stanley that lies beyond Ignisborough. It has its own higher education college and football team (light blue strip). No-one really knows or cares about it.

Ignisborough

Sisorca

Introduction

Sisorca is an uptrend area in Queen's Stanley, along with neighbours Thorndale, London Park and Ignisborough. Built in the Georgian times, Sisorca was populated by the aristocrats, the wealthy citizens of the time. It houses a rich array of architecture, from the classical regency townhouses to the contemporary, modern, Art Deco establishments. There are two main housing crescents, Museum Road, which borders London Park on the west side, and Elderbury Crescent on the east side. There is also a major shopping promenade, Orent Road.

Queen's Stanley

11/3/2020

Queen's Stanley is a town in South England where many of the people in the Lorallian reside. Originally 4 separate districts, the leaders of those districts decided to merge and form the Queen's Stanley Consortium made up of the 4 districts and their representatives:

  1. Thorndale - represented by Norma Rodder.
  2. London Park - represented by Geoffrey Winton.
  3. Sisorca - represented by Bob Spencer.
  4. Ignisborough - represented by Stuart Darrien.

Queen's Stanley is served by Queen's Stanley Station (urban) and Stanley Downs Station (rural) railway stations on the Silver Valley Line. Yaxley is not considered to be part of Queen's Stanley, as it is fairly big and has its own railway station, Yaxley Central Station.
