It was an engraved map of Europe with a diagram of the solar system superimposed over the top of it. In the northwest corner there was the sun, situated over my home in Queen's Stanley. Surrounding this, there were four rings and four planets marking four elemental paths - each one’s topography mapped out with extraordinary detail and precision...I realised that I needed to embark on one of the four paths, and that once I had chosen, I would not be able to turn back. Destiny beckoned forth, and, somehow, I knew that if I were not ready, or not adequately prepared in my heart, then I might as well turn back and return home.

London Park Police Constabulary

11/3/2020

London Park Police Constabulary was founded in 1995 by Geoffrey Winton and Liam Taylor. The Station has now completed its six year expansion period, with the addition of more forces, more facilities and two new vehicles and it is now under The Metropolitan Police Service, operating with other police forces in the London Area and further afield.

The Constabulary is situated in London Park Road, and it serves, as well as London Park, Sisorca, Thorndale and Ignisborough.

The police station that covers the whole of Queen's Stanley – Thorndale, London Park, Sisorca, Ignisborough, and the whole of the surrounding area, including Ravenswood and Ravenswood Hill itself. Since May, 2000, London Park Police Constabulary is an official member of the London Metropolitan Police and their officers also work in areas further afield.

The LPPC was founded in September 1995 by Geoffrey Winton and Liam Taylor.

Liam Taylor had originally worked in a police station in the city of Westminster, and initially, his new police station took on the name of Upper Westminster Police Station – although it was further out of London.

The police station moved into the premises at 2 London Park Road, once part of an old warehouse. The building doubled up as both a police station and living quarters, with two front bedrooms on the top floor, a single bedroom in the centre and another bedroom on the back of the building. A cafeteria was also installed on the first floor, along with a reception and waiting room.

Originally, it was co-ordinated by Geoffrey Winton, with Liam Taylor as chief officer on the streets. Liam's then wife, Sarah, worked with him, along with his brother, Max, and his wife Louise.

In 1997, Sarah's sister Gemma took on Geoffrey Winton's secretarial duties, since Geoffrey had little time due to his role as mayor of London Park. Geoffrey Winton henceforth became ‘wooden chair’ of the police force.

German ex-army officer, Hayrak Donda, joined in August 1998, followed by his soon to be wife, Hayda Loral, in September 1998. Hayda took a brief secondment at the Rovie Mall in December 1998, and Clara Greenwich temporarily covered her position.

The following years are considered the golden age of the police station, since this is when the original line-up worked there – Liam, Hayrak, Max, Sarah, Hayda, Louise, and Gemma on the desk.

In 1999, Harriet Gardner joined the police force after narrowly escaping from being kidnapped in a red mercedez benz. Joseph Lee, her soon to be husband, joined in May 2000, followed by appointment of a new receptionist, Lindsay Scott, in June 2000.

On June 3, 2000, four representatives from the police force – Liam & Sarah Taylor and Hayrak Donda & Hayda Loral, attended the annual metropolitan police conference. Their station acquired official metropolitan status, and two new vehicles.

At this time, two new officers joined (Jason Wells and Jane Brown), and the ranking system became established. Thus, rank 1 consisted of the following officers:

  1. Liam Taylor
  2. Hayrak Donda
  3. Sarah Taylor
  4. Hayda Loral
  5. Max Taylor
  6. Joseph Lee
  7. Louise Taylor
  8. Harriet Lee
  9. Jason Wells
  10. Jane Brown

Out of all these officers, Jane Brown was the only non-residential. Hence, rank 1 was known as the ‘residential rank’ of the police station.

The police station increased their workforce by 17% in the year 2000 alone, and in each rank, there were 10 officers.

This line-up existed for four years, until Hayda went on maternity leave in June 2004, never to come back, and was replaced by Ada Laurel. Harriet resigned in 2005, and was replaced by Kym Sykes. Then Jane quit over pay cuts, and was replaced by Lucy Tree in 2006.

Over the next couple of years, many members of the original line-up also moved out into houses. In summer 2007, the station was extended into 4 London Park Road (formerly known as Emley House Library) to create a new department – London Park Police Constabulary Science, to improve techniques of forensic policing.

Sarah replaced Liam as police chief in April 2007 and Liam and Hayrak were both appointed joint supervisors / team leaders. Gemma moved into the new extension, and trains lab assistants to work at the police station.

Nowadays, although the rank system is still in place, ranks never usually work together. Officers from different ranks are usually mixed up on a certain assignment, unlike before, where, for example, Liam, Hayrak, Sarah and Hayda worked on assignments together at all times.
